description: Bring an old jar back to life with this junk jar scavenger game. Spin it, turn it, shake it, and see if you can find all of the hidden treasures.

ingredients:
- clean jar with screw-on lid
- uncooked rice
- small objects
- colorful paper

tools:
- pencil
- scissors

instructions:
1.Start with a clean, empty jar. Either plastic or glass works fine. Put a bunch of small objects into the bottom. Good ones to try are beads, paper clips, gumballs, buttons, screw, match, plastic toys, and a penny.

2. Set your lid on a piece of paper, then trace around it. Cut out the circle. Write a list of the items you put in the jar on the paper and glue or tape it onto the lid.

3. Pour the rice over the contents to fill up the remaining space in the jar. Leave about .5" of air at the top. Screw on the cap. Shake the items around in the jar and start searching for your stuff.

Tip: We found that the penny was the hardest item to find becuase it works itself into the center of the container. The best way to find it is to lay the container on the floor and spin it.
