		Here's a sampling of events that we've participated in: Maker Weekends, New York Hall of Science, Queens NY July 28, 29; August 11, 12, 25, 26, 2012, 11-4PM Come create with us over the course of three Maker weekends at the NY Hall of Science. We'll be teaching eco-crafty projects that are great for the whole family! Maker Weekends span the course of the summer, and include a variety of inspiring makers with hands on projects to share. These weekends give kids a chance to design, tinker and create! Spring Kids Fest- Madison Square Park NYC, May 19, 2012 Time Out Kids and the Madison Square Park Conservancy hosted an afternoon of free family fun, featuring music performances, a magic show, and crafts courtesy of the Rubin Museum of Art, the Children’s Museum of the Arts, and yours truly, ReplayGround! Queens Central Y Earth Day Fair- 67-09 108th St, Forest Hills, NY, May 6, 2012 Queens Central Y held their 3rd annual Earth Day Fair, and the day was packed with green vendors, vegan cooking demonstrations, a sustainable food market for adults, and lots of earth friendly fun for kids! RePlayGround brought a series of recycling projects, and kids had a blast making recycled rockets, pinwheels, and reclaimed cardboard wallets. Go Green! Greenpoint! Earth Day Festival- McCarren Park, Brooklyn, NY, Sat May 5, 2012 The 5th annual festiva lwas held in beautiful McCarren Park, and was filled with educational displays, health and wellness tips, demos, arts and crafts sold by artists, artisans and craftsmen, live music and performances, and crafty DIY recycling projects by RePlayGround! Earth Day New York- Grand Central Terminal, New York, NY April 20-21, 2012 Earth Day New York was packed with exhibits, food, music and family fun! RePlayGround taught fair-goers to make recycled magazine stationary, and celebrated Earth Day in upcycled style! Industrial Design Society of America Design Summit- 76 9th Ave, 11th Fl, New York, NY, Feb. 9, 2012 Tiffany Threadgould of RePlayGround served as a panelist for the annual IDSA Design Summit 2012. The panel discussed key factors impacting the current state of design industries, sharing their unique perspective on what will make for success in 2012. American Folk Art Museum Make It Thursday- 2 Lincoln Square (near Columbus Ave. and 66th st) New York, NY Feb. 2, 2012 RePlayGround hosted Make It Thursday at the American Folk Art Museum! Participants learned to make their own soda tab bracelets, and picked up a signed copy of ReMake It! Barnes & Noble book signing- 150 East 86th Street, New York, NY, Sat. Dec. 3, 2011 RePlayGround's Tiffany Threadgould was featured author at Barnes & Noble! She signed copies of ReMake It! Recycling Projects from the Stuff You Usually Scrap, and taught a recycling craft project to make and take! Queens Library Workshops 2011 RePlayGround teamed up with the Queens libraries to offer a series of upcycling workshops. We taught how to make newspaper gift bags, CD game spinners, magazine bead bracelets and more at various library locations over the course of several months. Pratt Institute 125th Anniversary Kickoff, Brooklyn NY, Oct. 1, 2011 We helped start the school year off with a bang at Pratt's fall kickoff! RePlayGround's Tiffany Threadgould and Abby Kelly are Pratt alumni, so we were happy to head back to campus to spread some recycling fun. We taught how to upcycle old Prattfolios into magazine stationary and gift bows, and we got to chat it up with Pratt students, parents, and fellow alumns! Maker Faire NYC, New York Hall of Science, Queens NY, Sept. 17-18, 2011 The 2nd Annual Maker Faire was a great success! RePlayGround was one of over a hundred showcasing makers who came out for a fun filled weekend. Fairgoers helped us build a mural out of bottlecap magnets that spelled out the word MAKE. We also ran a workshop on making your own paper picture frame from old magazines. The Creative Connection, The Crowne Plaza, St. Paul MN, Sept. 15-17, 2011 This 3 day event was jam-packed with social media and business panels, tech workshops and business roundtables, hands-on workshops, food panels and classes, shopping and more! RePlayGround taught a workshop on how to upcycle old magazines into colorful coasters, beads and stationary! Maker Days, New York Hall of Science, Queens NY, July 23, 24; August 6, 7, 20, 21, 2011 In celebration of the 2nd annual Maker Faire, RePlayGround took part in Maker Days at the NY Hall of Science. We provided eco-crafty projects over the course of three weekends. Maker Days made for some great summer fun! Summer Streets with GoGo squeeZ™, Foley Square, NYC, August 6, 13, and 20, 2011 We teamed up with GoGo Squeez and TerraCycle to bring fun, free projects from upcycled GoGo Squeez packaging. We created gift bows and wallets for those on the go go. Go Go Squeez is commited to sustainability through their TerraCycle program and we had a blast teaching participants how to upcycle their wrappers in fun, innovate ways. Earth Day NYC, Grand Central Terminal, April 22-23, 2011 In celebration of Earth Day, we spent the weekend at the biggest earth party of the year! This year we brought crafty recycling projects to the fair, and inspired people to remake trash into treasure, not just on Earth Day, but every day! Etsy Labs, Brooklyn, NY, April 18, 2011 Our trip to Etsy included a virtual tutorial on the soda tab bracelet. We also led a workshop as part of the Etsy Community Meetup! To see photos from the event, check out the Etsy Flickr page. Brooklyn Skillshare, Brooklyn NY, October 9th, 2010 We visited the Brooklyn Skillshare in order to teach a class on glass etching! The workshop was part of an amazing day of crafty learning that was open to the public! (Check out the great roster of classes here.) Maker Faire NYC: Sept. 25 and 26, 2010, New York Hall of Science In 2010, Maker Faire visited New York City for the first time ever. RePlayGround spent the weekend showing people how to play with their garbage, and won four Editor's Choice awards! See some photos here.
